Houston’s Intercontinental Airport had already broken their rainfall record for April 18…by 5:20 a.m.!

And even more amazing: it also established a new monthly record for any date in April!

8.85 inches had fallen at of 5:20 a.m.

9.39 is the current total for the day.

3.91 inches fell between midnight and 1 a.m. with another 3.19 inches between 4 – 5 a.m.

1.03 inches fell in just ELEVEN minutes between 4:34-4:45 a.m.

There are big delays at Intercontinental and Hobby, which of course impacts Birmingham flights as those are Southwest and United hubs.

An additional 3-4 inches of rain is possible today.
