...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...

...SUMMARY...
Showers and a few thunderstorms are expected tonight over parts of
west-central California.

...Discussion...
With the surface cold front now south of the Florida peninsula and
Keys, thunder risk continues to diminish onshore, thus warranting
removal of the thunder area across this region.

Farther west, warm advection ahead of an advancing Pacific upper
trough continues to support showers across portions of northern and
central California and westward into the eastern Pacific, along with
a few embedded thunderstorms. With lapse rates aloft supporting
weak CAPE, as revealed by evening RAOBs, expect continued potential
for occasional lightning overnight, gradually spreading northward
across the central CA region with time.
