...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...

...SUMMARY...
A few thunderstorms may linger over extreme eastern North Carolina
early this morning, while isolated thunderstorms are otherwise
possible over the Pacific Northwest later today. Otherwise, severe
thunderstorms are not expected.

...Eastern Seaboard...
A few thunderstorms may continue along the coastal outer portions of
NC in the short term, but a cold front will otherwise continue to
accelerate and sweep offshore, effectively ending thunderstorm
potential along the Carolinas and Southeast States early today.

Elsewhere, a couple of lightning strikes have been noted across CT
in the predawn hours. Across this region, scant elevated instability
could allow for a couple of lightning strikes across southern New
England in association with increasingly heavy snow today.

...Pacific Northwest...
In wake of subtropical moisture plume, mid-level lapse rates will
steepen with the approach of an upper trough currently over the
eastern Pacific. This will contribute to weak instability upstream
of the more widespread area of rain where scattered showers will
likely develop. Any thunderstorms should remain isolated.
