Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Tuscaloosa and Bibb Counties

As evidence of how fast storms can go severe today, the storm east of Tuscaloosa is now capable of quarter sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts. Be in a safe place as it approaches. It will move toward Alabaster and Helena.

1143 AM CDT WED APR 5 2017

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
East central Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama…
North central Bibb County in Alabama…

* Until 1215 PM CDT

* At 1143 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over North Bibb,
or 13 miles north of Centreville, moving northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Lake View, Vance, Woodstock, West Blocton, Tannehill Ironworks
State Park, North Bibb, Green Pond, Caffee Junction, Hebron and
Bucksville.
