...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PARTS OF
SOUTH CAROLINA AND EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA...

...SUMMARY...
Thunderstorms associated with a marginal wind damage and hail threat
will be possible on Monday across parts of South Carolina and
eastern North Carolina.

...South Carolina/Eastern North Carolina...
An upper-level low is forecast to move east southeastward across
central and eastern Georgia to the Atlantic coast on Monday. At the
surface, a low is forecast to move northeastward just offshore from
South Carolina to near the coast of North Carolina by Monday
afternoon. Model forecasts are suggesting that thunderstorms will
develop during the day along and to the northwest of the track of
the surface low in parts of the eastern Carolinas as a cold front
moves into the coastal sections. GFS forecast soundings from
Charleston, South Carolina up to Wilmington, North Carolina during
the early afternoon show SBCAPE values in the 500 to 1000 J/kg range
with moderate deep-layer shear. This could be enough for a marginal
severe threat with the stronger multicells. Any severe threat should
gradually diminish from southwest to northeast along the coast as
the upper-level low moves offshore during the mid to late afternoon.
