Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 156

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Central and southern Arkansas
  Northern Louisiana
  Northwestern Mississippi
  East Texas

* Effective this Saturday morning from 1240 AM until 800 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...The severe-weather threat is forecast to diminish
gradually through the reminder of the night, but may persist in
pockets with clusters of thunderstorms moving eastward across the
region from watch 155.  Damaging wind and sporadic hail are most
probable, though a tornado cannot be ruled out.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
statute miles either side of a line from 15 miles south southeast of
Tyler TX to 75 miles north northeast of Greenville MS. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
