Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 176

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Northwest Arkansas
  Parts of eastern Oklahoma

* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 535 PM until
  1000 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will continue through the evening along a
slow-moving front from eastern Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas. 
Occasional large hail/damaging winds will be the main threats, but
an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out with storms interacting with
the boundary.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45
statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles northeast of
Harrison AR to 40 miles south southwest of Poteau OK. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
