URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 181 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 730 AM CDT Sun Apr 30 2017 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Southeast Louisiana Central and southern Mississippi Coastal Waters * Effective this Sunday morning and afternoon from 730 AM until 300 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... A few tornadoes likely Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Bands of severe storms will continue east-northeastward through the morning and early afternoon hours across much of Mississippi and east/southeast Louisiana. Strong low-level shear and moist air mass will support the possibility of tornadoes along with damaging winds and some hail. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles east and west of a line from 85 miles north northwest of Meridian MS to 30 miles south of New Orleans LA.
