At 641 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles northwest of Tyrone, or 27 miles north of Trinidad. This storm was nearly stationary. Another strengthening storm was located 4 miles west of Walsenburg and was moving southeast at 20 mph.
