Day 4-8 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0358 AM CDT Tue Jun 20 2017 Valid 231200Z - 281200Z ...DISCUSSION... A cyclonic-flow regime and strongest flow aloft are expected to shift east across the north-central states into this weekend, reaching the eastern U.S. early next week. A surface front is expected to shift southward with the greatest instability relegated to areas generally south of the stronger flow aloft and bulk shear. Thunderstorms will be possible in vicinity and south of the cold front through the forecast period, while a large surface anticyclone advances east of the Rockies beginning on Day 6 (Sun). However, the lack of stronger deep-layer shear with southward and eastward extent across the U.S. precludes the delineation of any severe-weather threat areas.Read more
