Day 1 Fire Weather Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0245 AM CDT Sun Aug 27 2017 Valid 271200Z - 281200Z ...NO CRITICAL AREAS... ...Synopsis... Midlevel high pressure centered over the central Great Basin will remain nearly stationary today, resulting in continued hot and dry conditions across the West. While many locations in the West will reach critical RH values during the afternoon hours, weak low-level flow will limit surface wind speeds and the potential for wind-driven fire spread. Likewise, despite unstable conditions developing during the afternoon (i.e., supportive of plume-dominant fires), the lack of moisture will limit the potential for thunderstorms.
