From Newcastle-Upon-Tyne to South Shields, the Great North Run is an event that puts world class athletes alongside thousands of amateur runners and enthusiastic fundraisers for the world's leading half marathon.
The Great North Run has seen varying conditions in the past 30 years. Conditions have ranged from extremely wet days to days that were extremely warm for mid September.
The participants will be looking for a cool and cloudy day, with a light breeze to make for the best running conditions.
Whether you are planning to take part in the race or lining the streets to cheer on the runners, check the weather forecast before setting off.
