URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 486 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 340 PM CDT Sun Sep 17 2017 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of southeast Colorado eastern New Mexico the Oklahoma Panhandle the Texas Panhandle South Plains vicinity * Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 340 PM until 1100 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will continue to increase in coverage over the next several hours, spreading east-northeast across the southern High Plains region. The strongest storms will be capable of producing large hail and locally damaging winds this afternoon and evening. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 90 statute miles east and west of a line from 60 miles northeast of Trinidad CO to 65 miles southwest of Lubbock TX.
