On Monday 30th April 2018 a national meeting will be held at the Royal Astronomical Society to celebrate the memory of Raymond Hide (CBE ScD FRS) who was President of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1983-1985, and of the Royal Meteorological Society, 1974-76.
Raymond studied at the University of Manchester, where he obtained a first-class degree in Physics in 1950. He then went to Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge where he was awarded a doctorate in 1953.
