URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 229 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 200 AM CDT Fri May 24 2019 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Western and Northern Oklahoma * Effective this Friday morning from 200 AM until 700 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...Bands of storms will continue to progress northeastward across western/northern Oklahoma through the overnight hours. Isolated large hail/damaging winds will remain possible with the strongest storms. A tornado cannot be conclusively ruled out given the strong low-level shear, but hail/wind are most probable. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles east and west of a line from 15 miles north northeast of Alva OK to 25 miles south southwest of Altus OK.
