Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 372

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  A small part of central and northeast Kansas

* Effective this Wednesday morning from 125 AM until 600 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Recent thunderstorm development west of Hutchinson has
shown some upscale growth and evolution into a bowing segment with a
comma head structure.  This convection will have the potential to
produce a few damaging gusts for the next few hours while moving
east-northeastward along a surface front across central into
northeast Kansas.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 30
statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles west of
Hutchinson KS to 115 miles east northeast of Hutchinson KS. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

1.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
