...Synopsis...
A large-scale trough will enter portions of the Pacific Northwest
and traverse the northern Rockies into the northern Plains. A broad
region of modestly enhanced mid-level flow will accompany this
trough progression, particularly along the base of the trough where
55-65 kt mid-level flow will be present. At the surface, a Pacific
cold front will sweep across the northern Rockies into the northern
Plains.

...Northern Great Basin and Central Rockies...
A relatively dry airmass, in concert with diurnal heating and mixing
of the modest mid-level flow, should result in a period of elevated
fire-weather conditions over a relatively broad region during the
afternoon. Most of the ongoing elevated area has been maintained,
collocated with the southern periphery of enhanced mid-level flow
and supportive underlying fuels.

A corridor of enhanced surfaced winds (sustained winds near 20 mph,
gusts near 30 mph) and dry conditions (RH into the teens) should
develop along portions of southern Wyoming into the western Nebraska
Panhandle and northeast Colorado, where timing of the enhanced
mid-level flow will align with peak heating. This will yield at
least locally critical fire-weather conditions, particularly
along/east of the Front Range with downsloping winds. However,
precipitation from the prior evening over expansive portions of the
region remains a limiting factor, and thus, the elevated delineation
has been maintained at this time, with a minor expansion made into
portions of northeast Colorado based on available high-resolution
guidance.

...Southwest Oregon and Northwest California...
High pressure will settle into portions of the Pacific Northwest
behind the aforementioned cold front. The resulting surface pressure
gradient will favor a period of northeasterly offshore flow Sunday
afternoon/evening. Sustained winds of 20-25 mph, with gusts in
excess of 30 mph are possible, particularly in terrain-favored
locations, in concert with RH approaching the upper teens and fuels
conducive for large-fire spread.
