The NWS has cleared all Central Alabama counties from the tornado watch.
Moderate to heavy rain cover nearly all of Central Alabama from the Mississippi border to the Georgia State Line at this hour.
There is a small threat of a damaging wind gust from any of the cells that manage enough of an updraft to bring strong winds aloft to the surface.
Even outside of that though, a wind advisory is in effect for strong surface winds that are being produced by the gradient between low pressure over northwestern Arkansas and the high to the east. Small trees will be brought down by these winds given the saturated ground.
A flash flood watch remains in effect for North and Central Alabama. An areal flood advisory has just been issued for Fayette, Marion, Walker and Winston Counties. One hour rainfall rates are approaching three quarters of an inch with the activity and some flooding will occur since grounds are already saturated.
