Staying unsettled, more wind and rain but perhaps drier next week Another unsettled week ahead. Wind and rain will be passing east, some of it heavy once again in more western areas. Generally it will be mild but some cooler days can be expected too. Hints are for pressure to build into next week and this could bring drier conditions for a few days.

For the weather for the next few days click here Thursday 10/12/15 Low pressure stays to the north of the country on Thursday. This brings a band of rain eastwards, some of it heavy at times across England and Wales. A further area of rain for northern and western Scotland, reaching Northern Ireland later. The threat of a period of very strong winds in Scotland. Tops near 7 to 12C.

Friday 11/12/15 High pressure south of the country on Friday with low pressure to the north. A chiller day with showery bursts of rain in northern and western Scotland as well as western Wales and western England. Further showers in western Ireland. More eastern areas should be drier and brighter with sunny spells. Highs at 6 to 9C.

Saturday 12/12/15 A weak ridge of high pressure builds through the country on Saturday. This should be bringing a drier day for all. There will be some bright or sunny spells around, although an odd shower could affect northern Scotland. Tops near 5 to 9C.

Sunday 13/12/15 Low pressure west of Ireland on Sunday. Fronts will be passing north taking cloud and rain with them. Drier to the east with higher pressure in control here and brighter weather too. Tops at 5 to 12C. Monday 14/12/15 The area of low pressure passes north of Scotland on Monday. This takes showers and rain with it. Higher pressure builds to the south and west bringing drier conditions and sunny spells. Tops at 5 to 9C. Tuesday 15/12/15 A ridge of high pressure is likely to be maintained on Tuesday. This should give drier weather and sunny spells, although the risk of some rain in the far south. Tops at 5 to 8C.
