More wind and rain, gales in the west Staying very unsettled throughout the coming week. Winds will be strong at times, reaching gale or even severe gale force. Rain could be heavy, especially in the west and south where there is a risk of flooding. Generally mild but some cooler weather in Scotland at times.

Drier for Wales and northern England as well as much of Scotland, although gales setting in here with rain arriving in the west. Tops at 7 to 12C.
Saturday 5/12/15 Low pressure north of Scotland with a strong to gale force southwest flow through all areas. This brings rain to the north and west, some of it heavy with a risk of flooding. Less rain east and south. Highs at 8 to 12C.
Sunday 6/12/15 Low pressure west of Ireland on Sunday bringing a southwest flow. This pushes a warm front northeastwards taking rain across Ireland and western parts of the UK. Milder, drizzle and mainly cloudy conditions over much of southern England and Wales. Tops at 7 to 12C.
Monday 7/12/15 The southwest flow is maintained through Monday with low pressure west of Scotland. Heavy bursts of rain across much of Scotland, northern Ireland, Wales and western England as well as Ireland. Drier south and east. Very windy for all with severe gales in northern and western parts. Highs at 9 to 14C. Tuesday 8/12/15 Troughs in Scotland bringing showers or longer spells of rain through more northern and western areas. A few showers on other western coasts and hills, but drier in the east and south. Highs at 7 to 11C. Wednesday 9/12/15 A better day for Wednesday as a ridge of high pressure builds in. This brings fair weather and sunny spells, although there could be some patchy rain in western Scotland. Highs at 8 to 14C.
