High pressure brings settled weather to much of Europe, and allows milder air to spread across central and western countries. Sunshine for Italy and Greece. Staying cold around the Black Sea. Unsettled and possibly thundery for Cyprus. Mild in France, with some sunshine, although cloudy near Biscay coasts. Drizzly rain for Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark, also northern Germany. Dry for central Europe, including the Alps. Patchy snow around the Baltic Sea. Less cold than recently for Scandinavia, although temperatures still close to freezing. The bitter cold temperatures will become confined to far eastern Europe and Russia.
Monday Cloud and rain for western Portugal and northwest Spain today. Dry across the rest of Spain, good spells of warm sunshine in eastern and southern areas. Staying fine through the Balearics too with more sunshine to come here. Showery rain in western France, but fair and dry for most/ A fair day to come in the Low Countries and Germany, milder air arriving here. Snow and sleet for Poland and eastern Hungary. Austria and Switzerland should be dry with sunny spells. Broken cloud and mostly dry in Denmark. Cloud and rain or sleet for much of Sweden, murky here too. Freezing rain and snow in the Baltic States and Finland. Mostly cloudy in Norway, some outbreaks of rain here too.
