Heavy rain for Portugal Thursday High pressure remains across southern Europe, whilst a long frontal system extends from the Baltic to Biscay. Some heavy and persistent rain for Portugal and northern Spain, will fade later, whilst southern & eastern Spain remains dry and quite warm, 16 to 19C on the Costas. Fine weather extends across the Mediterranean, with sunshine for Italy, the Balkans and Greece. Dry but cool in Turkey. Cloudy for much of France, with patchy rain in central areas. Temperatures ranging from 8C in the north, to 15C in southern France. A band of patchy rain also affects southern Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland, but will tend to fade through the day. Fairly mild across the Alps. Cool and bright for the Low Countries and Denmark. Low pressure brings gales to Baltic regions, with areas of rain and snow in Finland. Showery in western Norway. Brightening up in Sweden, but staying windy.
Friday Much of Europe remains dry with high pressure in charge across central and southern areas. A trough may bring thundery showers to southern Portugal, whilst most of Spain will be dry. Partly cloudy skies as a weakening front sinks southwards into southern Europe, but overall fine weather continues for the Mediterranean, including Italy and Greece. France will be dry, although breezy toward English Channel coasts. A blustery day for Belgium, the Netherlands and northern Germany, with spots of rain around North Sea coasts. Rain on and off for Denmark. Central and eastern Europe will be dry, and fairly mild. Low pressure close to Norway brings gales and heavy rain to the west, spreading also in south-western Sweden. Snow over the mountains. Dry in northern Scandinavia, including Finland, and less cold than recent weeks.
