UK Forecast: Wet in the west - Gales in south, Feb 06 - 16:24

Sunday Windy and mild across England and Wales with gales in the north. A wet day across Scotland with outbreaks of heavy rain. Across England and Wales a number of showers to come across western areas with central and eastern areas dry with sunnier spells. Outbreaks of rain to come into western areas in the afternoon while the east stays mainly dry. Gales develop across the south west by the latter part of the afternoon. Highs of 5 to 6 Celsius across Scotland, 7 to 10 Celsius across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Sunday night Gales are expected this evening and overnight across Wales and the southern half of England with gusts possible of 70-75 mph around exposed channel coasts. Rain clears to showers across Scotland. An area of persistent and heavy rain is forecast for England and Wales this evening. This clears all parts during the night with another area of showery rain to affect western parts of Britain. Expect minimums of 4 to 7 Celsius.

Monday Further gales will blow across Wales and southern and central parts of England today. Inland gusts of 50-55 mph are possible inland with 65 mph around southern coasts. A cloudy day across England and Wales with showers and longer spells of rain. Brighter across Scotland and Northern Ireland with a few showers in western Scotland. Gales in the south this evening diminish in the night. Mainly dry this evening and overnight with a few showers, these may be wintry over high ground. Expect top temperatures of 5 to 9 Celsius.

Tuesday Chilly and breezy today. A good deal of dry weather is expected across the country with sunny spells and occasional cloud. Scattered showers to come across western areas and along the channel coast, perhaps with some rain here. Most places will be dry and clear during the evening and night. A colder night than of late with a frost in sheltered locations. Expect top temperatures of 5 to 7 Celsius.
