European Summary: Blustery showers north - Temperatures rising in Spain, Mar 29 - 05:43

Dry weather across the Mediterranean Tuesday Heavy rain in the far north-west of Spain and Portugal, whilst most of Iberia stays dry and sunny. Very warm in the south & east of Spain, highs 23C. Extensive dry, sunny and warm weather too across the Mediterranean, including southern France, Italy, Greece & Turkey, temperatures 16 to 20C. Thundery rain for central & western France, and showery in the north of France, Belgium, the Netherlands and northern Germany. Blustery winds and fairly cool across northern-central Europe, temperatures 10 to 13C. Scattered showers for Switzerland & Austria, snow over the Alps. Some thundery rain for Hungary and Slovakia. Heavy showers too around the Baltic. Persistent rain and mountain snow in western Norway, plus strong winds. Scattered showers in Sweden, but plenty of dry weather too, highs 10C. A southerly breeze for Finland.

Wednesday A slow moving front encroaches toward western Iberia, bringing a threat of heavy rain to Portugal, particularly later in the day. Meanwhile, most of Spain will be dry, sunny and very warm, topping 25C in the east. Similar dry and warm weather extends across the western Mediterranean, southern France and Italy. Settled weather also for Greece and Turkey. Central and northern Europe remains cooler and showery. Cloudy for northern France, with outbreaks of rain. Fronts stretching west to east bring some organised rain to Germany and Poland. Breezy for the Low Countries and Denmark, some heavy showers. Patchy rain across eastern Europe. North-west Norway remains windy with some heavy showers. Lighter winds across southern Norway and Sweden, where there will be plenty of bright weather. Some showers for the Baltic coasts and southern Finland.
