Good Friday A much better day of weather across the UK and Ireland to start the Easter weekend. Cloud across the far southeast may give a few spots of rain in Kent at first, but this soon clearing. Then dry with sunny spells for all parts of England, Wales and Scotland, these lasting well into the afternoon. Increasing cloud and winds over western Ireland and Scotland bringing some rain here by late afternoon. Highs at 9 to 13C.
Friday Night An increasingly breezy night with a risk of some gales on western coasts and hills. A front passing east gives rain in western Scotland and Ireland, some of it heavy. This rain band then reaching northwest England, western Wales and the far southwest of England by morning. Staying mostly dry elsewhere. Lows at 4 to 6C.
Saturday Low pressure west of Ireland brings a strong southwesterly flow across most of England and Wales on Saturday. There will be gales too, strongest around the coasts. Heavy periods of rain associated with a front in Scotland, Ireland and much of Wales and western England. This front edging slowly eastwards although, apart from a few spots of rain in the wind, it may stay dry in eastern England until late afternoon. Heavy showers following into Ireland, Scotland and the west of Wales and England later. The winds easing too. Highs at 9 to 14C.
Easter Sunday Low pressure remains in control on Easter Sunday. This brings a mix of sunshine and showers. Most of the showers through western and southern areas where they could be heavy at times and may will merge into longer spells of rain. Strong winds ares likely to accompany the showers and rain. Lighter winds and more sunshine in Scotland, although showers here too. Highs at 9 to 13C.
