Friday A dry and bright start to the day across much of England and Wales with some good spells of sunshine across eastern and southern areas. Cloud will be increasing here during the day, making the sunshine hazy, although staying dry. Thicker cloud in Ireland and western Scotland with rain here and windy too. Some heavier bursts of rain affecting western Scotland and the west and south of Ireland. This rain edges eastwards into northwest England this afternoon, again some of it heavy. Rain in the far west of Wales in the afternoon too. Becoming breezy for all. Highs at 9 to 14C.
Friday Night Rain across Scotland tonight, some of it heavy in the far south. Cloud and outbreaks of rain affecting much of northern England to, most of it in the northwest. Damp in Wales with some heavier periods of rain in northwest and the far southwest of Wales. A few spots in western Cornwall too. Elsewhere it should be dry in England and Wales, although rather cloudy. Drier in western Ireland and western Scotland. Lows at 0C under clearer skies in southeast England, 5 to 7C in the rain to the north and west.
Saturday Low pressure to the southwest of Ireland on Saturday. Fronts brings cloud and rain to Ireland and much of northern England, southern Scotland and western Wales on Saturday morning. Drier in northern Scotland. Dry too but with plenty of cloud in the rest of England. Further rain in the afternoon over Ireland and Scotland, although dry in the far north. Becoming drier in northern England and Wales. Mostly dry in the rest of England and Wales with some bright spells here. Highs at 11 to 15C.
Sunday A slack area of low pressure may affect much of the country on Sunday. Troughs moving northwards during the day, these bringing some thundery periods of rain. There is likely to be a fair amount of cloud in the morning for all as the showers and areas of rain track northwards. Ireland looks likely to see most of any rain. Generally becoming brighter as the day progresses. Highs at 9 to 16C.
