UK Forecast: Wet & windy - Showery Sunday, Mar 30 - 15:10

Thursday A mostly fair start to the day, although quite a chilly one. There will be sunny spells for many areas. A few showers across southern Scotland but dry overall elsewhere. Showers are likely to be developing across eastern parts of England this afternoon, but for most it should be dry and bright with sunny spells continuing. Further areas of showers perhaps into western Scotland and Northern Ireland later, and one or two forming over the high ground of England, Wales and Scotland too. Tops near 9 to 12C.

Thursday Night A chilly night with clear skies allowing temperatures to fall fairly quickly. There could be some mist and fog patches in rural parts of England, Wales and eastern Scotland later. Thicker cloud and increasing winds reaching Ireland and western Scotland later in the night as a front arrives, lifting temperaures here. Lows near -2 to 3C.

Friday A ridge of high pressure continuing to affect eastern and southern parts of the country through Friday. This brings a fair day here with sunny spells and dry conditions, but a tendency for cloud to increase in the afternoon. Thicker cloud, stronger winds and rain affecting Ireland and western Scotland in the morning, this slipping eastwards through the day to be knocking on the door of northwest England by the evening. Tops at 8 to 12C.

Saturday High pressure to the east on Saturday with low pressure to the west. A south to southeast flow is going to be bringing a front across Ireland and southern Scotland. This gives cloud and rain in these areas, some of it heavy at times, and perhaps affecting parts of northern England too. Drier in the far north of Scotland with some sunny spells here. A milder and drier day in southern and southeast England too, a few sunnier spells forming as the day wears on. Highs at 10 to 16C.
