Gales, wind and rain, just in time for Easter! Just in time for the Easter weekend the weather is about to be turning much more unsettled. The jet stream becomes re-established and brings low pressure areas across the UK and Ireland. Wind, rain and strong winds are all likely, although it is going to be feeling milder for all.

Cloud and rain across Ireland and western Scotland in the morning will be spreading eastwards to be through Wales and western England during the late morning and into the afternoon. Staying dry with some sunny spells in more eastern parts of England, although rain arrives here in the evening. Highs at 9 to 15C.
Easter Sunday 27/3/16 Low pressure remains in control on Sunday. This brings a mix of sunshine and showers. Most of the showers through western and southern areas where they could be heavy at times and may will merge into longer spells of rain. A swathe of gales is likely to accompany the showers and rain, this sweeping eastwards during the afternoon. Highs at 9 to 13C.
Holiday Monday 28/3/16 Bank Holiday Monday brings low pressure across the UK and Ireland again. There is a risk of severe gales sweeping eastwards, together with heavy rain, followed by showers. Less showers are likely in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Tops near 10 to 13C.
Tuesday 29/3/16 Probably staying unsettled on Tuesday with low pressure close to northern Scotland. Less showers around on Tuesday, although still a few heavy ones here and there. Less windy too. Highs at 8 to 11C. Wednesday 30/3/16 A brighter day is likely on Wednesday. Low pressure is to the west of Ireland bringing sunshine and showers. A weak ridge of high pressure through the UK tending to give a drier day with scattered showers, but some bright spells too. Highs at 8 to 11C. Thursday 31/3/16 A ridge of high pressure may persist into Thursday. This gives a mostly dry day with sunny spells, although rain arriving in Ireland, together with stronger winds. Highs at 10 to 14C.
