Saturday A colder start to Saturday morning with a north to northeast wind affecting all of the UK and Ireland. There will be some reasonable spells of sunshine around for many, although some showers in northern Scotland, these falling as snow on the hills. The showers tending to reach eastern Scotland through the morning, with some drifting onto the eastern coasts of England and eastern Ireland too. Further spells of sunshine on Saturday afternoon and staying chilly. The best of the sunshine always in more western areas with the east tending to see thicker cloud producing some showers in the east. Pleasent in the sunshine, but cold in the wind and cloud with highs at 5 to 12C.
Saturday Night A chilly night for all. There will be wintry showers in Scotland, snow on the hills especially the Highlands. An area of more persistent showers, some wintry slipping southwards through Scotland overnight. Some showers in the Midlands too, these edging into southeast England. Clearer skies elsewhere with a forst for some. Lows near 1 to -2C.
Sunday An area of high pressure remains to the west of Ireland on Sunday. Low pressure is to the east with the winds coming from a cold north or northwesterly direction. This flow brings bands of showers south through many areas with the focus for them being northern, western and eastern coasts and hills. The best sunshine is likely to be in more southern areas of the country, with the thickest cloud in the east. Tops at 7 to 11C.
Monday An area of low pressure is expected to be drifting southwards through the North Sea bringing cloud and bands of showers southwards. The rain and showers mostly in the north and east and falling as snow on the hills here. Western parts seeing a few showers, but some sunny spells here as well. Feeling cold in the wind, which could touch gale force in eastern areas. Tops near 4 to 12C.
