Week ahead: Milder and unsettled - Showers and rain, Apr 10 - 10:01

Windier this week The unsettled spell of weather looks set to continue through the week. The jet stream will remain well to the south of the United Kingdom. This will keep low pressure across the country for much of the time with plenty of showers and longer spells of rain to come. Temperatures will become milder. For the weather for the next few days click here Wednesday 13/04/16 Persistent rain may affect northern parts of England. The rest of the country will see a mixture of cloud, sunny spells and showers, some of the may be on the heavy side. Few if any showers may be found across East Anglia and the south east. A mild day in the south with overall temperatures of 8 to 17C.

Thursday 14/04/16 An area of heavy rain across England and Wales will be moving away to the north east to be replaced by sunshine and showers. Fair and mainly dry across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs of 11 to 14C.

Friday 15/04/16 It continues very unsettled across the United Kingdom with lots of cloud, a few sunnier spells and quite a few showers. The showers will be locally heavy with a risk of thunder. Highs of 11 to 16C.

Saturday 16/04/16 Another showery day to come but perhaps less than Friday and not quite as heavy with more sunshine. South east England and East Anglia look dry. In the evening more persistent rain may spread into the south reaching most of England and Wales in the night. Top temperatures of 10 to 16C.

Sunday 17/04/16 Mostly cloudy across England and Wales with outbreaks of rain. This turns lighter and more showery in the afternoon. Scotland and Northern Ireland appear dry with sunny spells. Expect highs of 12 to 18C. Monday 18/04/16 Outbreaks of rain across northern England and Wales in the morning may push northward into Scotland. A number of showers to come across Wales and the south which track into northern England in the afternoon. Confidence is quite low by then. Highs of 12 to 19C.
