Becoming warmer again A cool weekend ahead, with snow showers on Saturday in northern Britain. Temperatures will gradually rise into next week, becoming quite warm again in the south. Monday 18/04/16 High pressure extends across southern Britain & Ireland. Low pressure to the north. A dry and bright day for most places. Sunny spells. Thicker cloud toward the north & north-west, plus a fresh westerly breeze, which may bring a few showers to western Scotland, of snow on higher mountains. Light winds in the south. Risk a frost in rural areas in the morning. Temperatures 9 to 12C in north, up to 14C by afternoon in the south.
Tuesday 19/04/16 Settled weather is likely to continue as high pressure resides across the country. Variable cloud across central areas due to the remains of a front, but this should break up to give a good amount of sunshine. Risk of frost overnight in clearer spots. Some early mist. Light winds for most, but a freshening easterly breeze is likely in the south & south-west. Slightly warmer, daytime highs 12 to 16C, warmest south.
Wednesday 20/04/16 High pressure is expected to remain across the country, leaving many areas dry with plenty of sunshine. Thicker cloud toward the south-west, where a strong easterly wind persists. Low pressure around Biscay brings an increasing risk of rain to the far south-west. Risk of a few showers in north-west Scotland. Light winds for northern Britain. Local frost at dawn. Warmer again by day, highs 13 up to 17C in south.
Thursday 21/04/16 Confidence of detail low. High pressure is still likely to influence the British Isles, although tending to weaken. Fairly cloudy. Pulses of rain may affect the south & south-west, but many places may well stay dry, particularly across northern regions. A strong easterly wind continues in the south. Highs 13 to 16C, but may climb to 18C in the south-east. Friday 22/04/16 High pressure is expected to be centred north-west of Britain, bringing a good deal of dry weather. Risk of some rain in the far south as fronts linger around Biscay and northern France. A cool east to north-easterly breeze is likely, particularly across eastern England. Slightly cooler, highs 10 to 15C. Saturday 23/04/16 Generally cooler, with a northerly flow across the country. High pressure to the west. A few showers may affect eastern regions. Cool in the north & east at 10C, but may remain fairly warm toward the south & south-west, highs 14 or 15C.
