Sunday 17/04/16 High pressure builds across Britain & Ireland from the west. A few showers may drift into the far north-west, but most places will be dry with a good amount of sunshine. A chilly start, with frost in rural areas. A breeze from the west or north-west will make it feel cool, particularly in the north. Daytime highs 8 to 10C in north & west, to 11 or 12C in the Midlands and south-east.

Monday 18/04/16 High pressure extends across southern regions. A dry and bright day for most places. Sunny spells. The north-west likely to hold onto more cloud, perhaps enough for a few showers in western Scotland, of snow on higher mountains. A fresh breeze continues across the north. Light winds in the south. Risk a frost in rural areas in the morning. Highs 9 to 13C, warmest south & east.

Tuesday 19/04/16 Settled weather is likely to continue as high pressure resides across the country. Small risk of showers developing in the south-west should fronts around Biscay encroach northwards. Slightly warmer by day, highs 10 to 13C, perhaps 15C in the south.

Daytime highs 10 to 15C, warmest south. Thursday 21/04/16 Low confidence of detail: A chance that dry, settled weather may hang on, particularly across the north. However, an increasing risk of low pressure developing, most likely toward the south, bringing bursts of heavy rain at times. Highs 10 to 14C. Friday 22/04/16 Low confidence: A more changeable outlook is likely compared to early in the week. Areas of showers, and it may become cooler from the north. Highs 9 to 14C.
