European Summary: Heavy thunderstorms - Fair Mediterranean, May 28 - 05:43

Heavy and thundery showers in central Europe, fair Mediterranean Saturday Thundery showers across Spain and Portugal on Friday with the heaviest of them in the north. Warm and dry for the Balearic Islands as well as Corsica and Sardinia. Italy will be fair with lots of sunshine, but a few showers in the far north. Fair for Greece with lots of sunshine here. Further sunshine in western Greece although some heavy showers in the east. Heavy showers and longer spells of thundery rain affecting much of France today. Staying wet with further heavy thunderstorms and rain in the Low Countries. Western Germany will have heavy showers but the east should be dry. Scattered heavy showers in eastern and southern Poland. Lots of thundery showers in Hungary, Switzerland and Austria. A fair and breezy day in Denmark with lots of sunshine. Scattered showers for the Baltic States but mostly dry. Fair with lots of sunshine in Finland and much of Sweden. Some rain in southwest Norway, but fair in central and northern areas.

Sunday Further showers affecting northern part sof Portugal and Spain today. Fair through much of the central mediterranean, although there will be some showers in the far north of Italy. Sunny spells and dry weather to come in Greece, and it should be fine for the west of Turkey too. Some showers affecting Cyprus. Heavy thundery showers over France with the focus for them across eastern and southern France. Sunny spells and showers in the Low Countries with heavier showers for Germany too. Poland will be mostly dry, although an odd shower can't be ruled out. Heavy and thundery showers for Hungary and Austria as well as Switzerland. Breezy in Denmark with a fair amount of cloud and scattered showers. Mostly dry with good spells of sunshine for the Baltic States. More sunshine and dry weather in Finland and northern Sweden. Southern Sweden will have a few showers, most on the coast. Fair for Norway with good spells of sunshine to come here.
