European Summary: Hottest across eastern Europe - Thunderstorms, heavy showers, May 29 - 05:43

Fine across the Mediterranean, Greece Today Today it will be very warm to hot across Poland and much of the Balkans. Fine and dry across Britain today. Plenty of showers, some heavy with a risk of thunder are likely across much of Spain, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Austria. Some heavy showers are also expected across Portugal and western Spain while eastern Spain, The Balearics and Sardinia are fine, dry and sunny. Just a few showers develop across Italy otherwise sunny and warm. Lots of fine sunshine to come across Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and the Adriatic Region. Showers to affect eastern Turkey with the west sunny. Apart from a few showers on the north coast, expect a dry, hot day across Poland. More in the way of showers and scattered thundery showers are forecast across The Baltic States and Russia. Rain is likely across Norway with much of Sweden and Finland dry. Quite windy across the eastern Mediterranean.

Monday A very warm day across eastern Europe. An area of rain spills into eastern Britain, France and The Low Countries. The south of France though stays fine and dry. Scattered showers to affect the north of Iberia but for much of Spain and Portugal expect a dry, sunny day. Lots of warm sunshine will be on offer for Italy, Greece and western Turkey. Some heavy showers are likely for eastern Turkey. Heavy showers with a risk of thunder are expected for Romania, Poland, Hungary, The Ukraine, The Baltic States. Drier across Russia today. Apart from a few late showers it looks fine and dry across the Adriatic Region. Very unsettled with spells of heavy rain and thundery showers across Germany today. Lots of dry weather is expected across Finland, Sweden and Norway.
