Warm again in Scandinavia Friday Staying hot and sunny in southern Spain and Portugal, temperatures 29 to 32C. A few thunderstorms may break out across northern Spain and the Pyrenees. Showers too for the south of France and central-northern Italy. Shallow low pressure across central and south-eastern Europe brings widespread thundery rain. Storms will break out across Germany, the Alps and Balkan countries, extending to southern Poland, Romania and Bulgaria. The north of Poland should escape mainly dry. Central and north-western France should be largely dry with some sunshine. Risk of rain in the Low Countries. Dry for Denmark. A few showers across the Baltic states and southern Scandinavia, but plenty of warm sunshine across northern Europe. Temperatures in southern Sweden topping 25C. Cooler northerly winds affect northern Norway, bringing showers to Arctic regions.
Saturday Shallow low pressure continues to influence central and southern Europe, whilst high pressure stays to the west and north. A dry and very warm day for most of Spain & Portugal, although some thunderstorms possible for the Pyrenees and north-east Spain. Dry and sunny for the Mediterranean islands. Thunderstorms will extensively break out for southern France, the Alpine regions, central-southern Germany and the Low Countries, plus south-eastern Europe. Greece should escape with scattered storms inland, and the Aegean islands most likely dry. Sunny and warm for Cyprus and southern Turkey. Some thunderstorms around the Black Sea. Risk of showers in Denmark and southern Sweden, but well scattered. Fair weather for most of Scandinavia, and warm in the south, although cooler than previous days. Northern Norway remains windy and cool.
