UK Forecast: Heavy showers - Risk of thunderstorms, Jun 12 - 17:02

Monday An unsettled day to come across Britain and cloudy for most. Showers across Wales, the south west, northern England and Scotland will then develop across many areas of the country as we go through the day. In the afternoon some very heavy showers with a risk of thunder may affect western Scotland, and an area from The Pennines down across East Anglia. While this is the favoured area, any place could catch a locally heavy shower. Expect maximum temperatures of 16 to 19 Celsius.

Monday night In the evening a line of heavy showers and thunderstorms persists from north west England across the North Midlands into East Anglia before dying out in the night. An area of showers spreads in across Northern Ireland and the north of Scotland. The rest of Britain will be dry albeit cloudy. Expect minimums of 10 to 15 Celsius.

Tuesday Another rather cloudy, unsettled day to come but in the afternoon some sunshine may break out across East Anglia, The south east and the south west of England. Persistent rain is forecast for the north of Scotland while plenty of showers develop across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. These showers turning heavy and locally thundery. Most of the showers fade later in the evening. Expect top temperatures of 13 to 18 Celsius.

Wednesday After a dry, sunny start across Wales and England cloud increases with a risk of showers then for much of Britain. These will again turn heavier and more frequent with thunder by the afternoon. Kent and Sussex may escape with a fine, dry day. Persistent rain is forecast for northern Scotland. England and Wales will see showers fading this evening then mainly dry in the night. Light rain is expected across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Expect top temperatures of 15 to 20 Celsius.
