UK Forecast: Scattered showers - Mostly dry & warm, Jun 07 - 16:45

Wednesday A fair amount of cloud across the UK and Ireland to start the morning. The cloud should break with warm spells of sunshine developing, the best of these in more western areas. By late in the morning a few showers will be developing over the hills of northern England and Scotland. These will become torrential into the afternoon, with central and southwest Scotland, the Pennines, Midlands and hills of Wales as well as western Ireland most favoured areas to see the showers. Drier elsewhere. Eastern coasts are always likely to see more cloud. Highs at 14C over northern and eastern coasts, 21 to 26C for other areas.

Wednesday Night Showers fade during this evening with all areas then being dry through the night. There will be quite a bit of cloud, most of it in the east. Some mist patches developing by the morning, especially in more western areas. Lows at 6 to 10C.

Thursday Pressure remains generally high over the UK and Ireland through Thursday. This brings mostly dry conditions with some good spells of sunshine, especially in more northern and eastern areas. There is the risk of some cloud over Wales and southwest England in the morning, perhaps giving an odd spot of light rain here. This afternoon sees a shower risk over Wales and northwest England as well as central Scotland and Northern Ireland. Elsewhere dry with sunny spells, the best in the east. Highs at 20 to 24C but 14C over eastern coasts.

Friday A rather messy situation on Friday as a weak front moves into western parts of the country. This pushes outbreaks of rain eastwards to affect northern England and Scotland as well as Wales, southwest England and Wales in the morning. east Anglia and the southeast may stay dry. The afternoon sees showery bursts of rain for many areas, a few of them heavy, although again East Anglia and southeast England may stay dry. Highs at 16 to 22C.
