Mixed with sunny spells and showers, perhaps cooler later in the week Changeable weather through the rest of this week as low pressure settles close to the country. This will be drifting towards the east through the weekend as a ridge of high pressure builds to the west. This brings drier conditions into the weekend for many southern and eastern areas, although there is uncertainty in rai returning to the west into next week.

Showers affecting much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland as well as Ireland. These could be heavy at times. A few bright spells between the showers, especially in areas sheltered from the northerly wind. Drier weather tending to spread into central and northern Scotland. Highs at 11 to 19C and feeling cold in the wind.
Friday 17/6/16 Low pressure to the east of the Uk on Friday. A ridge building west of Ireland. Some cloud and showers are likely across eastern Scotland and eastern England. Getting drier and brighter to the west with sunny spells forming, the best of them in areas sheltered by the wind. Highs at 12 to 19C.
Saturday 18/6/16 Lower pressure remains to the east on Saturday with a ridge of high pressure in the west. For most the day is going to be dry and bright with some good spells of sunshine. Thicker cloud and rain in western Ireland as a front passes close by. Tops at 12 to 18C.
Sunday 19/6/16 A ridge of high pressure over the south and east of the UK and Ireland on Sunday. This gives a mostly dry day with sunny spells. Thicker cloud and some outbreaks of rain in Ireland and Scotland, especially in more western areas. Temperatures reaching 14 to 18C.
Monday 20/6/16 A ridge of high pressure is expected to be through southern and eastern areas again on Monday. Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland may bring some rain here, and also the risk of some rain in Ireland too. Highs at 15 to 21C. Tuesday 21/6/16 Pressure tending to build to the south of the country on Tuesday with a southwest flow affecting all areas. This brings cloud and some outbreaks of rain over northern and western areas. Highs at 15 to 21C.
