Week ahead: More unsettled - A fine start, Jun 06 - 10:12

Isolated thunderstorms but mainly fair at first, turning more unsettled The weather is set to remain fine through the coming days. Save a few thunderstorms, most places should be dry. A rather erratic breakdown in conditions is expected by Friday across more northern and western areas as it turns cooler too. Low pressure then takes control through the weekend and into the early part of next week bringing more unsettled weather for all.

For the weather for the next few days click here Thursday 9/6/16 High pressure stays to the northeast of Scotland on Thursday. This may again bring some low cloud onto eastern coasts of England, although the cloud soon breaking. Elsewhere expect sunny spells and fair conditions and feeling warm again too. A few showers could form across southwest England, Wales, northwest England and western Scotland later in the day, although these probably not as widespread or as intense as on Wednesday. Highs at 21 to 27C, but cooler on the coasts in sea breezes.

Friday 10/6/16 Fronts begin to edge in from the Atlantic on Friday, bringing the risk of some patchy rain to west and north-western areas, possibly triggering a local thundery burst for central and northern areas of England and Wales. The south and east may well escape with a dry and warm day. Sea breezes near the coasts. Highs 18 to 23C.

Saturday 11/6/16 Fronts toward the north-west bring the risk of rain on Saturday, and cloudy skies for much of western Britain. Risk of rain becoming increasingly widespread. Some dry and sunny weather may hold on toward the south-east. Highs 17 to 23C.

Sunday 12/6/16 A break in the weather is expected on Sunday as low pressure settled over the country. This brings with it more cloud and outbreaks of rain for much of the United Kingdom and Ireland. There is uncertainty over how widespread the rain will be, and as to quantities which will fall, but a damper, cloudier day is likely. A much cooler 15 to 20C.

Monday 13/6/16 Low pressure is expected to be over or close to the UK and Ireland on Monday. This brings a day of sunshine and showers to many. Most of the showers in more western areas where some could be heavy. It may be breezy to the south. Highs at 13 to 18C. Tuesday 14/6/16 The area of low pressure stays close by through Tuesday. This is likely to give another unsettled day with sunshine and showers. Highs at a cool 12 to 16C.
