Thundery rain at times Warm and humid air will influence the country this weekend and into next week. The muggy conditions will trigger thunderstorms, which may be widespread early week. Mixed conditions thereafter, but remaining warm or very warm. For the weather for the next few days click here

Monday 06/06/16 A very warm and humid feeling day. Slack pressure across the country, drawing in a general south to south-easterly flow. Starting largely dry, with hazy sunshine. An increasing threat of thunderstorms breaking out across the south, particularly late afternoon and evening, tending to drift north & north-west across Wales & the Midlands. Isolated downpours may form over the hills of northern Britain also. Light winds, sea breezes. Highs 22 to 26C.

Tuesday 07/06/16 A pulses of thunderstorms may track north across the country in the early hours, leaving bursts of rain over northern Britain into the daytime. Renewed thundery rain may develop, but most likely in the north & east, whilst the south & south-west may escape with an improving day, and some sunshine developing. Feeling humid. Light winds and coastal sea breezes. Highs 20 to 25C.

Wednesday 08/06/16 Another warm and humid day, although pressure may build slightly. Hazy sunshine. Risk of scattered thunderstorms, which may break out increasingly later in the day across central & eastern areas, but uncertainty about detail. Light winds and coastal sea breezes. Highs 22 to 26C, perhaps locally warmer.

Thursday 09/06/16 High pressure to the south & east will continue to be eroded by low pressure and fronts over the Atlantic. Uncertainty about detail and timing. Another very warm or hot day, and feeling humid. Risk thundery bursts of rain. Highs 22 to 26C. Friday 10/06/16 Again, precise detail is very uncertain. Most likely remaining very warm and humid. Increasing threat of thundery rain encroaching in from the west and south-west. Light winds. Highs 22 to 26C. Saturday 11/06/16 Threat of heavy rain and thunderstorms having become more widespread by this stage. Detail still very uncertain. More cloud overall, and not as hot. Highs 18 to 24C.
