Tuesday A chilly start to Tuesday for much of the country. There will be some sunny spells and it should be dry for most of England, Wales and Ireland as well as eastern Scotland. Showers affecting western Scotland are expected to slip south into northern England through the morning and into the afternoon, these heavy at times in the east. A few showers further west, but these fading. Most southern and western areas should have a dry day with sunny spells. Highs near 14 to 21C.
Tuesday Night Patchy rain and showers to start the night in central Scotland, and a few in northeast England too. Thicker cloud and some showery rain into Ireland and western Scotland, this slipping into northern and western Wales as well as northwest England by morning. Drier to the east and south with some clearer spells. Temperature falling to between 8 and 12C.
Wednesday High pressure is expected to be to the southwest of Ireland on Wednesday. Fronts across northern and western parts of the UK and Ireland wil be bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain to many areas, much of the rain focussed through northern England, western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Patchier rain in the Midlands and southern parts of Wales, with the south of England tending to be dry although rather cloudy. Temperatures reaching 15 to 21C.
Thursday Low pressure to the north with high pressure to the south of the UK through Thursday. This is going to be bringing rain across much of Scotland, although this easing in the afternoon with eastern Scotland then dry. More southern parts of England and Wales should be dry with sunny spells developing, although the morning may be cloudier. Temperatures reaching 17 to 24C.
