Week ahead: Bright north - Murkier south, Nov 23 - 08:49

Plenty of dry weather but becoming increasingly cloudy and murky High pressure is going to be dominating the weather over the coming days. his brings much drier conditions to all areas. It is going to be frosty in more northern and western parts with clearer skies here. Always more cloud to the south, although some brighter days. A tendency for cloud to be increasing into the weekend and next week with an increasing rist of mist and murk.

For the weather for the next few days click here Saturday 26/11/16 High pressure remains centred over Scotland on Saturday. With lighter winds in England and Wales there will b a tendency towards cloudier skies here. The best of any brightness probably in the west of Wales and northwest England. Drizzle and patchy rain in northwest Scotland but drier elsewhere with some bright or sunny spells. Mist or fog patches may affect central Scotland too. Highs at 6 to 9C.

Sunday 27/11/16 High pressure is expected to be centred over Scotland on Sunday. This brings easterly winds and broken cloud to many eastern, central and southern areas. Some drizzle may affect coasts in the east and south. Brighter to the west and north with the best of any sunshine here. Fog patches may affect Scotland. Highs at 5 to 10C.

Monday 28/11/16 High pressure is expected to drift eastwards away from the UK on Monday. A more brisk easterly flow developing. Broken cloud, most in the east with the best of any sunshine to the west. A risk of some drizzle afecting eastern and southern coasts and feeling cool. Highs 5 to 8C.

Tuesday 29/11/16 High pressure remains close by on Tuesday. This brings broken cloud for many although there is again a risk of some drizzle on eastern coasts. Ireland and western Scotland may see some rain as weak fronts arrive here. Rather murky and feeling cool with highs at 3 to 7C.

Wednesday 30/11/16 High pressure may slip south on Wednesday allowing a brisker, westerly flow to affect northern areas. This would bring cloud, wind and some rain to Scotland, especially the north and west. Murky for much of England, Wales and Ireland, the risk of some drizzle on western coasts and hills. Highs at 6 to 9C. Thursday 1/12/16 High pressure brings mist and fog to the south of the UK and Ireland on Thursday. This slowly lifting to leave conditions dry with some sunny spells. A cooler day in northern and eastern areas with some bright spells but also showers. The showers wintry over Scottish hills. Highs at 6 to 9C.
