Week ahead: Drier weather - Frosty in north, Nov 22 - 08:43

Plenty of dry weather, breezy in the south at times with frosts in the north A cool week ahead with high pressure being dominant across the UK and Ireland. Subtle changes in the location of the high pressure will have an impact on conditions. Most areas will be dry, although an increasing risk of some drizzle affecting eastern and southern areas. A general increase in cloud amounts too.

For the weather for the next few days click here Friday 25/11/16 High pressure remains over Scotland and northern England on Friday. A brisk northeast wind across southern England making for chilly conditions here. Patchy cloud in northern Scotland and a little affecting eastern coasts of England too. Other places seeing some more mist and fog patches although these clearing to leave the day dry with good spells of sunshine. Highs at 5 to 9C.

Saturday 26/11/16 Settled weather is very likely to continue through Saturday for many. High pressure centred across northern Britain maintains an easterly flow across the south. Frost and fog in the north. Cloudy in the east, brighter toward the west with good spells of sunshine here. A risk of a little drizzle over southern coasts of England. Highs 4 to 8C.

Sunday 27/11/16 Continued fair weather across Britain and Ireland on Sunday. A easterly flow will bring broken cloud into central & eastern regions, perhaps occasional drizzly showers extending inland from the North Sea. The best of any sunshine in the west. Frost and fog patches across Scotland. Highs 4 to 10C.

Monday 28/11/16 High pressure is expected to drift eastwards away from the UK on Monday. A more brisk south-easterly flow developing. Broken cloud, most in the east with the best of any sunshine to the west. A risk of some drizzle afecting eastern coasts. Highs 5 to 10C.

Tuesday 29/11/16 High pressure remains close by on Tuesday. This brings broken cloud for many although there is again a risk of some drizzle on eastern coasts. Ireland may see some rain as weak fronts arrive here. Rather murky with highs at 5 to 10C. Wednesday 30/11/16 Pressure is indicated to remain high on Wednesday. Probably rather murky with plenty of cloud for most. A few showers in northern Scotland. Highs at 4 to 9C.
