Sunshine south & east; snow showers north-west Good morning, A deep area of low pressure is centred over the Norwegian Sea and a strong to gale force west to north-westerly flow affects the British Isles. Winds gusting 60 to 70mph in exposed areas of northern Britain. A cold front clears south-east into continental Europe early in the day, leaving a bright day across England & Wales with sunny spells. A few wintry showers possible in north-west England.
Very cold air spreads from the north-west. Heavy snow and hail showers will affect western Scotland, locally banding together to give frequent snow, which will settle even at low levels. Temperatures will be briefly up to 8 to 10C in the south this morning, but will be just 4 to 7C for most places, or colder in Scotland, and will feel very cold in the wind. Have a great day. Garry
