Areas affected...the eastern FL panhandle into parts of northern FL

Concerning...Tornado Watch 14...

Valid 212103Z - 212200Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 14 continues.

SUMMARY...Occasional strong wind gusts may continue across the watch
area and perhaps into parts of northern FL. The overall severe
threat appears to be diminishing however, and a downstream watch is
not expected at this time.

DISCUSSION...Storms will continue to slowly progress east through
the remainder of the afternoon. Some gusty winds will be possible
given strong flow just off the surface, but overall severe threat
appears to be diminishing for now. Latest mesoanalysis indicates
weak instability with cloud cover resulting in at least weak
inhibition. Additionally, deep layer forcing for ascent is rather
weak as initial shortwave impulse driving convection early today is
lifting northeast into the central Appalachians at this time. A
downstream watch is not expected, but trends will continue to be
monitored.
