UK Forecast: Turning milder - Damp north, Jan 06 - 07:23

Friday Another frost early this morning across more southern and southeastern parts of the country. However, fronts bringing cloud and rain through Ireland, Wales, northern England and southern Scotland, most of this rain affecting the west where there will be cloud shrouding the hills too. During this afternoon the rain edges south with the most persistent of it across Wales. Rain arrives in southern England too during the afternoon, staying cold here as well. Drier weather reaches Scotland and Northern Ireland although there could be some patchy rain on western coasts and hills. Highs at 5C in southeast England, 11C in Northern Ireland.

Friday Night A damp night through the south of Ireland, Wales and southern England tonight. Mist and murk with fog on the hills too. Western coasts always at risk of cloud and some drizzle again with fog shrouding hills. Drier north and east with a few clearer skies here. No widespread frost problems, just close to 0C in eastern Scotland, around 3 to 6C elsewhere.

Saturday A weak front across southern parts of England and Ireland today. This produces patchy rain and drizzle with some fog on the hills. Always the risk of some low cloud affecting western coasts and hills to, although more eastern areas are likely to be drier. The best of any brightness over eastern Scotland and eastern England. Highs at 7 to 10C and so feeling milder for all.

Sunday Higher pressure builds on Sunday to the south of the country. It may still be that western coasts and hills have some low cloud and drizzle affecting them. Areas away from the west should be brighter and drier with some bright or sunny spells. A mild day too with tops of 8 to 11C.
