Milder weekend and then some cooler days next week Cold and frosty over the next couple of days as high pressure builds. An Atlantic westerly fo will become established into the weekend bringing milder and more unsettled conditions for all. Bands of rain passing eastwards as the milder air arrives leading to a milder and more unsettled start to next week.

A weak front persists through southern Ireland, southern Wales and southern England. This is going to be bringing murky and cloudy conditions with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. Drier for northern England and Scotland with some bright spells, the best of these in the east. Highs at a milder 7 to 11C.
Sunday 8/1/17 A weak ridge of high pressure builds over the country on Sunday. A weak front passes eastwards taking some cloud and outbreaks of rain with it, most of these affecting more northern and western areas. tending to become brighter for most in the afternoon. Highs at 7 to 11C.
Monday 9/1/17 More persistent rain and stronger winds spread eastwards through Monday with low pressure north of Scotland. The rain could be heavy at times across Scotland, and Ireland during the morning. It is likely to be staying dry over much of central, southern and eastern England until the evening. Highs at 8 to 11C.
Tuesday 10/1/17 A ridge builds on Tuesday bringing a bright day. There will be some showers, most in the north and west. Feeling chilly overall too. Highs at 5 to 8C.
Wednesday 11/1/17 Wednesday sees low pressure to the north of Scotland with a strong westerly flow developing. Plenty of cloud around bringing some rain to western coasts and hills, although probably drier to the east. Highs at 9 to 12C. Thursday 12/1/17 Low pressure remains north of Scotland as the flow turns more northwesterly bringing a mix of sunshine and showers. Most of the showers to the north and west with fewer east and south. The showers wintry on hills. Highs at 4 to 8C.
