Mild through the weekend and early next week, perhaps cooler later Becoming milder during the weekend ut also rather cloudy for most. Mostly dry, although the risk of some drizzle on western coasts and hills. Turning more mixed next week and windier too with cooler air arriving at times in Scotland. Perhaps becoming cooler moe widely towards the end of the week.

For the weather for the next few days click here Monday 9/1/17 Low pressure is going to be to the north of Scotland on Monday. Fronts passing eastwards bringing rain. It is going to become windier too. Showers follow from the west as the rain clears east later in the day. The showers turning to sleet and snow over the hills of Scotland as chillier air arrives. Highs at 5 to 11C.

Tuesday 10/1/17 A rather moist west to northwest flow on Tuesday. This leads to showers in Scotland and northern England, although these fading. Drier elsewhere with bright periods, although thicker cloud and rain arriving through Ireland later. Highs at 6 to 11C.

Wednesday 11/1/17 Wednesday sees low pressure to the north of Scotland with a fresh west to northwest flow developing here. Plenty of cloud in northern Scotland giving some rain with sleet on hills. To the south it should be drier with some bright spells coming through although always some cloud and showery spots of rain on western coasts and hills. Highs at 5 to 11C.

Thursday 12/1/17 Low pressure remains north of Scotland as the flow turns more northwesterly bringing a mix of sunshine and showers behind rain bands moving south. The showers could merge into longer spells of rain across Ireland and Scotland and turn to snow on hills as colder air arrives. Highs at 4 to 10C.

Friday 13/1/17 A colder day in a northwest wind on Friday. This is going to be blowing showers through many areas, most to the north and west. The showers will be heavy at times and falling as snow to low levels in Scotland and as sleet for much of northern England, Wales and Ireland. Less showers to the south and east. Highs at 2 to 6C. Saturday 14/1/17 Staying chilly on Saturday. There are likely to be less showers, most in the north and east. Drier to the west and south with sunny spells here. Highs at 3 to 6C.
