Lines of Strong to Severe Storms Continues to Push Slowly East, Southeast

Our line of thunderstorms continues pushing slowly southeast this afternoon across Central and Northeast Alabama.

The storms in Northeast Alabama have produced some healthy sized hail. A Guntersville Police office was hit in the head by golf ball size hail a short while ago. Golfball sized hail knocked out windows just north of Guntersville.

The strongest storm is Northeast Alabama is approaching Fort Payne. Warnings are in effect for parts of DeKalb, Jackson and Marshall Counties.

A couple of severe storms are n Winston and Walker counties. One is south of Arley. The other extends from near Berryto west of Jasper. Large hail may be falling just north of Berry, approaching Oakman. These storms will move toward Jasper, Cordova, Parrish, Oakman and Gorgas. These storms will affect north Jefferson County beginning about 330 p.m.

Strong storms over Pickens County back to near Macon MS. These storms produced wind damage near Center Ridge in Winston County Mississippi around 2:07 p.m.

Storms have developed near Eutaw in northern Greene County. They are not severe. They will remain south of Tuscaloosa.

A tornado watch continues in effect until 6 p.m. CST for the counties outlined in purple on the graphic.

There has been talk of a new severe thunderstorm or tornado watch for areas southeast of the current watch in time. Not a certainty but a possibility.
