Thunderstorms are going slowly downhill this afternoon as the line drops southeastward.
This has been a good dress rehearsal event for Central Alabama on this first day of Meteorological Spring. 32 reports of large hail and 15 reports of wind damage across our state. There were several reports of hail to 1.75 inches over North Alabama.
One severe thunderstorm warning left at this time for Coosa County. That storm near Rockford is still quite nasty. It will be affecting Alexander City shortly.
The severe threat is over for areas behind the line. A dry line is right behind the line of storms, and dewpoints will quickly drop into the 40s. The cold front is back over northern Mississippi. It will give us a bit of a cool down to near normal levels.
Lows tonight will be in the lower and middle 40s in the I-20 Corridor, with 30s up in the US-278 Corridor and upper 40s to the south.
Tomorrow will be cooler and partly cloudy. Highs will be in the lower 60s. Expect 30s tomorrow night and lows near freezing Saturday morning.
